Probably my one biggest mistake is writing the title first. Makes sense that after writing the article I might want to change or update the title. Also, the editing is very important and one that I sometimes just rush through instead of making sure everything is as it should be.

@Ehsan, I’m afraid I’m not sure what you’re asking! Are you asking why your name in the comments links to your blog? It’s because you’ve filled in the “URL” field.

@Morné — great tip with the comments, thanks! 🙂

In the conclusion part I always try to ask for comments and I must say it works well.

One tip I can give is when someone has left a comment is to always reply with an answer or a thank you and then ask them to click on the like and tweet buttons.

I especially loved the part about tweaking your article titles. I’m decent at writing articles but I always seem to get hung up on titling beyond the basic “How To Do X.”

A how to on “how to” post concept. You have provided a good checklist anyone can follow it and come up with great article.

Having done music and various sports(And a few other things) it would be interesting to see how well I can translate that experience into blog tutorials.

Agree with tweaking the titles. If the Titles were too general or generic, they would probably struggle to be found. Better to mix the titles up a but, whilst still keeping a few keywords for weight.

Your post covers just about every question that I had in mind. Up until now, I am looking for that fire on what to write, and I guess I went to the right article. Most of the time, when write a `how-to blog, I always get entangled in the middle and, as most of my ideas, is virtually crumpled on thrown into the bin. Thanks very much! Now, I am a fan!
