How to Evaluate the Success of SEO Strategy Photo

In the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape, mastering the art of SEO is crucial for standing out. However, understanding whether your efforts are paying off requires more than just a cursory glance at your site’s traffic statistics. This detailed guide explores the critical components of evaluating an SEO strategy’s success, emphasizing the significant impact that partnering with an SEO service provider can have on your results.

How to Evaluate the Success of SEO Strategy Photo

 1. Understanding SEO Goals

The first step in any successful SEO campaign is to set clear, measurable goals. These could range from boosting your site’s traffic by a specific percentage, achieving top rankings for certain keywords, or increasing your conversion rate. By establishing these benchmarks early on, you provide yourself with a clear target to aim for. An SEO company excels in mapping out a strategy that aligns with your goals and sets the stage for measurable success, ensuring every effort contributes directly to your objectives.

2. Tracking Organic Traffic

Organic traffic, the lifeblood of your online presence, offers a direct window into the effectiveness of your SEO strategy. An uptick in visitors from search engine results pages (SERPs) indicates your content’s increasing relevance and visibility. However, it’s not just about the quantity of traffic; the quality also matters. A professional SEO service provider leverages sophisticated analytics tools to dissect this traffic, providing insights into which aspects of your SEO strategy are driving the most valuable visitors to your site. How to Evaluate the Success of SEO Strategy Photo

3. Analyzing Keyword Rankings

Keywords act as markers that guide potential customers to your website. Tracking your targeted keywords’ performance on SERPs gives you a clear picture of your visibility to your intended audience. Seeing your keywords climb the rankings is a testament to the effectiveness of your SEO efforts. An SEO Company doesn’t just track these rankings; they analyze the data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization and even uncover new, valuable keywords to target, thereby expanding your reach. How to Evaluate the Success of SEO Strategy Photo

4. Measuring Conversion Rates

While attracting visitors to your site is essential, the ultimate goal is to convert these visitors into customers or subscribers. This is where the conversion rate comes into play, serving as a critical metric for evaluating the success of your SEO strategy. It’s not just about drawing traffic but attracting the right kind of traffic that is genuinely interested in what you offer. A professional SEO analyst focuses on targeted, intent-driven SEO practices that aim to boost not just traffic but traffic that converts, thereby enhancing your site’s overall profitability.

5. Assessing Backlink Quality

The quality of backlinks pointing to your website significantly influences your search engine rankings. High-quality, relevant backlinks from authoritative sites boost your SEO and lend credibility to your site. An SEO analyst employs strategic link-building efforts to secure these valuable backlinks, ensuring each link contributes positively to your site’s authority and visibility in search engines.

6. User Engagement Metrics

User engagement metrics, such as average session duration and bounce rate, offer invaluable insights into how visitors interact with your website. Improvements in these metrics suggest that your content is engaging, relevant, and valuable to your audience, indicating a successful SEO strategy. An experienced SEO professional will often conduct detailed analyses of these metrics, implementing content and UX optimizations to enhance user engagement further and retain visitors.

7. Mobile Optimization

Optimizing a website for mobile devices is non-negotiable in today’s mobile-first world. Google’s mobile-first indexing emphasizes the importance of mobile usability in your site’s search rankings. An SEO professional ensures that your site delivers a seamless mobile experience, from fast loading times to intuitive navigation, thereby improving your SEO and catering to most users who access the internet via mobile devices.

8. ROI Analysis

Evaluating your SEO efforts’ return on investment (ROI) is the ultimate measure of success. This analysis compares the cost of your SEO strategy, including the investment in an SEO service, against the revenue generated from the traffic and conversions attributed to SEO. A positive ROI signifies that your SEO strategy is effective and profitable, highlighting the value of ongoing SEO efforts and the expertise of your chosen SEO partner. How to Evaluate the Success of SEO Strategy Photo

Evaluating the success of an SEO strategy encompasses a wide range of factors, from traffic and rankings to user engagement and ROI. Each element provides a piece of the larger puzzle, offering insights into your approach’s strengths and areas for improvement. By partnering with a professional SEO service provider, you can navigate these complexities with greater ease and precision, ensuring your SEO strategy propels your website to new heights of digital success.

Crafting a Symbol that Resonates with Your Identity by Designing a Logo Online Photo

In the digital landscape where first impressions matter, a logo stands as the ambassador of your brand, a visual manifestation of your identity that speaks volumes in a single glance. Crafting a compelling logo is not merely a design endeavor; it is a strategic process that involves a profound understanding of your brand’s core values and a keen awareness of the ever-evolving design trends.Crafting a Symbol that Resonates with Your Identity by Designing a Logo Online Photo

In this guide, we embark on a journey to unravel the intricacies of designing a logo online that not only captures the essence of your brand but also leaves a lasting imprint on your audience’s mind. From getting into the depths of your brand identity to navigating the vast realm of online design tools, we will explore every facet to empower you in creating a logo that mirrors your identity and resonates with your audience. Let’s dive into the art and science of logo design, where pixels meet purpose and aesthetics merge seamlessly with strategy.

Use the tips to make a logo design.

Understanding Your Brand Identity

To embark on the journey of logo design, a thorough comprehension of your brand’s identity is paramount. Your brand identity is the soul of your business, encapsulating its values, mission, and unique personality. Start by identifying the core principles that drive your brand, whether it’s a commitment to innovation, a focus on sustainability, or a dedication to customer satisfaction. Examine your target audience – their preferences, aspirations, and the emotional responses you aim to evoke. This introspective phase serves as the compass for your design journey, guiding you towards visual elements that authentically represent your brand on a profound level. As you delve into this exploration, consider what sets your brand apart in a crowded digital landscape, and how your logo can communicate these differentiators effectively. The clearer your understanding of your brand’s identity, the more purposeful and resonant your logo will be.Crafting a Symbol that Resonates with Your Identity by Designing a Logo Online Photo

Finding Inspiration

Once you’ve looked into the intricacies of your brand identity, it’s time to draw inspiration from various sources that will breathe life into your logo design. Start by revisiting your brand’s story – the journey that brought it to life, the challenges it overcame, and the milestones it celebrated. This introspection can unearth elements that are not only significant to your brand but also potent visual metaphors for your logo.

Beyond your own narrative, look to industry trends and successful logos that resonate with you. Analyze the visual language of brands that have successfully navigated the digital landscape. While it’s essential to be aware of trends, ensure that your inspiration transcends mere mimicry, aiming instead for a unique blend that captures the essence of your brand.

Embracing Responsive Logo Design

Embracing responsive logo design while avoiding common web design mistakes ensures a seamless and recognizable brand identity across all platforms. Here are key points to consider:

  1. Simplicity is Key: A simple design ensures your logo remains legible and recognizable across different sizes and devices. Avoid overly complex elements that may become indiscernible on smaller screens.
  2. Scalability: Your logo should be scalable, maintaining its integrity whether it’s on a billboard or a mobile app icon. Vector graphics are often recommended for their scalability without loss of quality.
  3. Versatility: Create variations of your logo that can adapt to different backgrounds and contexts without losing its essence. This includes having different color schemes (e.g., monochrome versions) or layout adjustments for various applications.
  4. Consistency Across Platforms: While your logo should be adaptable, maintaining consistency in its core elements ensures brand recognition. The variations of your logo should clearly belong to the same family.
  5. Avoid Clutter: In line with simplicity, ensure your logo design doesn’t include unnecessary elements that could clutter the visual space, particularly important for small display areas.
  6. Readable Typography: If your logo includes text, choose a font that is legible across sizes and devices. Avoid fonts that become unreadable when scaled down.
  7. Test Across Devices: Regularly test your logo’s appearance across different devices and platforms to ensure it maintains its impact and readability. This might reveal adjustments needed that you hadn’t anticipated.
  8. Mind the Space: Pay attention to the spacing around your logo (also known as ‘clear space’) to ensure it doesn’t get lost or overcrowded by other elements, especially in a mobile or condensed context.
  9. Stay Updated: Digital platforms and devices evolve rapidly. Stay informed about new trends and technologies to ensure your responsive logo continues to perform well across future devices and platforms.
  10. User Feedback: Collect and analyze feedback from your audience regarding your logo’s visibility and recognizability across different platforms. User insights can provide valuable information for adjustments.

By incorporating responsive logo design into your branding strategy, you ensure that your logo not only stands the test of time but also adapts to the evolving digital landscape, maintaining its impact and relevance in a multitude of settings while steering clear of common web design pitfalls.

Choosing the Right Design Elements

With inspiration as your guide, it’s time to navigate the vast landscape of design elements and make strategic choices that align with your brand’s identity. Consider the fundamental building blocks of design – shapes, colors, and fonts. Each element contributes to the visual language of your logo, conveying nuanced messages to your audience.

Shapes can evoke specific emotions and associations. Are you a brand that exudes strength and stability? Consider incorporating geometric shapes. If you want to convey friendliness and approachability, organic and rounded shapes might be more suitable. The interplay of positive and negative space within your chosen shapes can create a dynamic visual impact.

Color psychology plays a pivotal role in logo design. Different colors evoke different emotions – red may symbolize passion and energy, while blue conveys trust and reliability. Reflect on your brand’s personality and the emotions you want to trigger in your audience. Strive for a balanced color palette that not only resonates with your brand but also ensures readability and versatility across various platforms.

Typography is another crucial design element that carries its own set of connotations. The choice of fonts can convey modernity, tradition, playfulness, or seriousness. Ensure that the fonts used are legible and align with the overall tone of your brand. Experiment with custom fonts or unique lettering to add a distinctive touch that sets your logo apart.

Harmony among these elements is key. Strive for a cohesive design that encapsulates the essence of your brand identity. The right design elements, thoughtfully selected, will serve as the visual language through which your audience connects with your brand on a deeper, more visceral level.

Utilizing Online Logo Design Tools

In the dynamic realm of digital design, an array of online tools empowers individuals and businesses to bring their logo visions to life, irrespective of their design expertise. These tools serve as virtual canvases, offering templates, customization options, and user-friendly interfaces that simplify the design process.

Explore popular online logo design platforms that cater to varying skill levels. These platforms often provide a plethora of templates that can serve as a springboard for your creativity. Browse through categories that align with your industry or style preferences, allowing you to experiment with different visual concepts effortlessly.

Customization is the hallmark of these tools. Tweak color schemes, adjust shapes, and experiment with fonts until your logo begins to reflect the unique identity of your brand. Some platforms even offer AI-driven features that can suggest design elements based on your preferences, streamlining the creative process further.

Creating Your Logo

Once you’ve harnessed the inspiration and wielded the design elements with the aid of online tools, the time has come to breathe life into your logo. Utilize the features of the chosen platform to arrange and refine the components of your design. Experiment with different layouts, color combinations, and typography until you achieve a visual synergy that resonates with the identity of your brand.

Consider the versatility of your logo. It should be adaptable to various sizes and contexts without losing its impact. A logo that scales seamlessly from a favicon on a website to a billboard speaks volumes about its design efficacy. Pay attention to the details – the spacing between elements, the proportion of shapes, and the legibility of text. These subtleties contribute to the overall professionalism and aesthetic appeal of your logo.

The service Turbologo provides ready-made effects and filters for the logo.

The creation phase is also an opportunity to experiment with symbolism and metaphor. Infuse elements that subtly convey the values and aspirations of your brand. Whether it’s a hidden initial, an abstract motif, or a clever combination of shapes, these nuances can add depth to your logo, creating a visual narrative that invites your audience to dive deeper into the essence of your brand.

As you embark on the creative process, remember that simplicity often holds immense power. Strive for a design that is not only visually compelling but also easy to remember. A clutter-free and cohesive logo ensures that your brand is easily recognizable, making a lasting impression on your audience across various digital and physical touchpoints.

Getting Feedback and Revising

In the iterative world of design, seeking feedback is a crucial step to refine and elevate your logo to its fullest potential. Share your initial drafts with a diverse audience, including colleagues, friends, and, if possible, members of your target audience. Constructive criticism provides invaluable insights, offering perspectives that you might not have considered during the creative process.

Encourage feedback not only on the aesthetic aspects but also on the emotional resonance of your logo. Does it convey the intended message? Is it memorable? Does it align with the perceived personality of your brand? These questions can guide the feedback process, helping you pinpoint areas that may require adjustment.

Testing Your Logo

With the initial drafts refined through feedback, the next pivotal step in the logo design process is testing its adaptability and resonance across various platforms and contexts. Resize your logo to different dimensions, ensuring it maintains clarity and coherence whether displayed as a small icon on social media or as a prominent feature on your website.

Test the logo in both color and grayscale to guarantee its effectiveness across different mediums. A strong logo should be recognizable even in black and white, ensuring versatility in print materials or situations where color might be restricted. Assess its performance against different background colors to verify that it remains prominent and does not lose impact or legibility.

Legal Considerations and Copyright

Amidst the creative fervor of logo design, it’s imperative to pause and navigate the legal landscape to safeguard your creation. Before finalizing your logo, conduct a comprehensive search to ensure its uniqueness and originality. Check for existing trademarks and copyrights to mitigate the risk of unintentional infringement. This diligence is crucial for establishing the distinctiveness of your brand in the market and avoiding legal disputes down the road.

Consider consulting with a legal professional or trademark expert to guide you through the intricacies of intellectual property law. Securing the legal rights to your logo reinforces your ownership, granting you the exclusive right to use, reproduce, and license its use. This not only protects your brand from potential legal issues but also adds tangible value to your intellectual property portfolio.

In some cases, it might be necessary to register your logo with the relevant authorities to solidify its legal standing. While this step may involve additional paperwork and fees, the long-term benefits in terms of legal protection and brand integrity outweigh the initial investment.

Implementing Your Logo

With a polished and legally protected logo in hand, the next crucial step is the seamless implementation across your online presence and beyond. Consistency is paramount to establishing a strong brand identity. Begin by incorporating your logo across all digital platforms, including your website, social media profiles, and email signatures. Ensure that the logo is appropriately sized and positioned for optimal visibility.

Consistency extends beyond the digital realm. Implement your logo across various touchpoints, from business cards and letterheads to merchandise and packaging. This ubiquity reinforces brand recognition and fosters a cohesive brand image.

Consider creating brand guidelines that outline the proper usage, spacing, and color specifications for your logo. These guidelines serve as a reference for anyone involved in the application of your logo, maintaining a unified and professional appearance across diverse mediums.

Monitor the reception and impact of your logo as it integrates into your brand’s communication strategy. Gather data on its performance through analytics and user feedback. Adapt and refine its implementation based on evolving trends, audience preferences, and the changing landscape of your industry.

Boost Your Website Conversion Rate: 10 Proven Strategies for Success Photo

Have your online sales been dwindling and decreasing? Are you searching for ways to get your website into the hands of more visitors and shoppers? If so, your website might benefit by having an improved conversion rate, and in that case, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve compiled a few of our favorite tips for website conversion and want to share with you 10 proven strategies for success in increasing that conversion rate.

What is a Website Conversion Rate?

Your conversion rate refers to the number of your website visitors that end up following your desired calls to action that you post on your website. For example, suppose you post blog articles with hyperlinks leading to some of your product pages with the intention of incentivizing your website visitors to shop for your products. In that case, the percentage of your visitors that actually do shop for and buy your products dictates your website conversion rate. Spending time and money on increasing your conversion rates is a worthwhile investment because it can help to increase your website ROI and company sales. So, here are our favorite 10 proven strategies that can improve your website conversion rate and, as a result, increase your sales and traffic.

How Can I Boost My Website Conversion: Top 10 Strategies

1. Know Your Audience and Their Needs

First off, you should make sure that you know your audience and their needs. This can help you to create a more attractive website design and more compelling website copy. For example, if your audience includes brides-to-be that are trying to save money on their wedding flower decorations, you’ll want your website to display gorgeous, trendy wedding flowers, but you’ll also want to emphasize your affordable pricing. You should lay into their “pain points,” that many wedding flower arrangements are much too expensive for the average bride’s budget, which is why they should shop from your company. Knowing your audience’s needs will increase the success of your website.

2. Make Your Site User-Friendly

Next, you should do everything possible to make your website user-friendly. Even if this means hiring a software developer, it will be well worth the time and money. If your website is difficult to use or navigate, or if it doesn’t look well-organized, your website visitors won’t want to spend very long on it. You can make your website more user-friendly by improving the speed of your website, which will decrease the amount of impatient customers who are being driven away. You should also make an easy-to-read menu so customers know how to find what they’re looking for. Don’t forget to optimize your website for mobile use! Most of your customers will probably be looking at your website on their phones, so this is a must-have.

3. Boost with SEO Blogs

You should also spend some time improving your blogs to increase your website conversion. Your blogs should be optimized for SEO so your website is showing up higher in search engine results. The articles should also have strong CTA (call-to-action) links so visitors are persuaded to follow through to your products. If you don’t already have a blog on your website, consider hiring a copywriter so you get high-quality, SEO-optimized copy added to your website.

4. Make Easy Payment Options

You can also improve your website conversion rate by making your payment processes easier and more streamlined. When your check-out process is overly complicated, it is likely that your customers won’t complete their purchase. You can offer various payment methods and payment plans to make this a lot more attractive and simple. Make sure to work with transaction software to find the process that is the quickest and easiest. This will improve your sales and conversion rate.

5. Seek Customer Feedback

If you want to improve your conversion rates, what better than to seek customer feedback. Looking for customer feedback can help you to know exactly what your website visitors and potential customers are looking for in an online shopping experience. Make sure that you provide opportunities for them to offer their feedback in form of reviews, forms, and customer service communication.

6. Optimize Your Product Pages

Optimizing your product pages can help search engines to lead more visitors to your website. It can also help your potential costumers to be led to and attracted to your different product pages. Your product pages should be optimized with SEO-friendly descriptions, attractive photos, helpful reviews, and more. If your product pages are hard to navigate and confusing, you likely won’t have as many sales.

7. Improve Your Website’s Aesthetics

While you’re working on improving your website’s content, don’t forget to improve the aesthetic of your website as well. If you have a clear, modern, beautiful website, it will communicate to your visitors that the website is updated and well-cared for. It will also tell them that you are on top of trends and efficient systems, making for a trustworthy and satisfactory shopping experience. Make sure that your branding, photos, and design are all updated according to the current desirable aesthetic trends.

8. Facilitate Communication and Customer Service

Boosting your website conversion rate can be significantly improved when you facilitate communication and customer service. If your website visitors feel like they can resolve questions or concerns in real time, they’ll be more persuaded to trust your website and shop from your company. One great way to do this is to put a live chat service on your website for easy communication. You can also offer customer service calling options.

9. Remove Excessive Forms

One of the biggest roadblocks in the customer’s experience is forms. If you have long, complicated forms linking your ads or blogs to your product pages and website, that will slow down your conversion rate dramatically. If you can simplify the form and click-through process, your conversion rates will increase.

10. Increase Transparency and Safety Nets

Finally, all customers want to feel safe when they’re viewing a new website and potentially shopping from a new company. To increase your conversion rates and sales, you’ll want to increase transparency and safety nets for your customers. Make suer that you have company policies posted publicly in easy-to-read language. Also, offering services such as fast and easy returns, money-back guarantees, and discount codes will keep customers on your page.

Blogging’s influence in today’s digital era is more substantial than ever before. As highlighted by Datareportal’s Digital 2023 report, the number of internet users in the United States surged to a staggering 312 million as of January 2023. What’s even more noteworthy is that a significant chunk of this online population is increasingly utilizing their smartphones to engage with content, including blogs.

If you’re still contemplating the merits of a business blog, consider this: a well-executed blog can serve as an influential platform to connect with audiences globally, driving brand awareness, fostering trust, and catalyzing website traffic growth.

However, before you embark on your business blogging journey, you must address certain key considerations that can significantly shape your strategy and impact your success.

WHAT are you going to write about in your blog?

What is your audience interested in? Analyze your customers questions and use them as inspiration for your blog content. Chances are, you already have a couple of good topics to use for your next blog post. Pro tip: write about what you know.

WHO are you creating content for?

Define your target audience and always keep them in mind when searching for a new topic or creating your next blog post.

WHY are you covering this particular topic?

Why is it relevant today and what do you expect your audience to take away from it? Use your blog as a platform to educate, inform and entertain your audience about topics not only related to your products but also focusing on broader topics in your industry. This will help you finding even more engaging subjects to write about and, at the same time, it will help hold your readers’ interest.

WHICH media works best?

For each blog post, what represents your content the best? Be aware of the fact that most blog posts are only scanned by the readers. It’s not a secret that adding visual elements to your posts makes them much more aesthetically appealing and more likely to be read in whole. Pictures, videos, and maps, for instance, can help engage your readers for much longer, thus, increasing the duration of each session on your website.

WHERE will you promote your blog and website?

Choose the media and channel you want use to share it with your audience. Whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn or Instagram strongly depends on your industry and business. Again, think about what media will suit your audience and content the best.

WHEN will your posts go online?

When you publish your content is another subtle point to consider if you want your blog to succeed. Several sources recommend many different days and times that seem to be best for publishing blog posts. Instead of looking at arbitrary proposals, analyze your industry and see what works best for your individual topics. Remember, frequency is key! Keep up with your work and publish content on a regular basis. Not only will it help your readers know when to expect new content but also creates a structure to follow when planning and scheduling your next topics and posts.

How to DM on Twitter - The Etiquette of the Do's & Don'ts Photo

Ever wondered “how to DM on Twitter successfully” without feeling like a lost bird in the digital woods? Well, let me assure you that’s as easy as tweeting “hi!” But wait, it’s not as simple as just hitting ‘send’. Below, I’ll share the art of sending Direct Messages, uncovering best practices, etiquette, and those unspoken rules that can be the difference between a DM disaster and becoming a Twitter superstar. Stick with me; you won’t want to miss this!

Twitter, with its crisp, concise communication style, is a powerhouse in the social media world. Whether it’s for professional networking, customer service, or even making friends, knowing how to Direct Message (DM) on Twitter can open up a whole new avenue of interaction. But how exactly do you DM on Twitter?

Lets start by defining what a DM is! A DM or Direct Message, on Twitter is a private conversation between two users. Unlike tweets, which are public and visible to everyone, DMs are only visible to the sender and the recipient.

DMs are crucial in maintaining privacy, especially when discussing sensitive information or conducting business conversations. They’re also perfect for building personal relationships without the eyes of the entire Twitterverse on your conversation.white ipad on red textile

Getting Started

Before you can start DMing, you’ll need to create a Twitter account. Signing up is easy. Simply go to Twitter’s website or download the app, click on ‘Sign Up,’ and follow the prompts.

Second, you’ll want to adjusting your privacy settings. Twitter allows you to control who can send you DMs. By default, only those you follow can send you DMs. However, in the ‘Privacy and safety’ settings, you can change this to allow anyone to DM you. Choose wisely!

Steps to DM on Twitter

  1. Locating the user: Once you’re all set up, navigate to the profile of the user you want to DM. Click on the envelope icon – that’s your gateway to the DM screen.
  2. Writing the message: Compose your message in the pop-up box. Just like tweets, Twitter DMs have a character limit—10,000 characters, to be exact. Keep it succinct and to the point!
  3. Sending the message: Click ‘Send’. Voila! You’ve sent your first Twitter DM.

DM Tips & Etiquette

Here is a summary that will help you remember: Don’t Use Twitter Like a Wet Cracker!

Crackers — The drier the better! Am sure you would never go shopping for a wet cracker. Then why use a twitter account the same way?

Twitter is a marketing bomb if used the right way. I have been using twitter for more than 2 years now and have been benefited only when I discovered the right way to use it.

Just like many of us I usually blindly do 2 things:

  1. Blindly follow as many as suggested twitter accounts to follow.
  2. Blindly tweet every single post on my blog using the retweet plugins.

I can for sure say these two are the biggest mistakes that could get your cracker wet.

The major pattern you could see on Twitter is:

  • You get followed back by many if you follow them
  • People subscribe to auto-follow tools to increase the follower counts
  • Your Twitter dashboard is flooded with tweets if you leave it un touched for 10 minutes
  • As soon as you tweet you see few new visitors from twitter landing on your website / blog

Is that what Twitter is all about – a few extra visitors, lot of blind tweets, flooded dashboards and huge chunk of followers to show off?

Now let me share what I learnt the hard way and something that could really help you benefit.person holding black smartphone

I created another twitter account and followed a different strategy that the one I used to use and many of us still use.

I had the new Ground rules this time:

  • Only follow who I really wanted to
  • Will try to keep the follower to following ratio unequal
  • Have a straight forward profile Bio (simple words about me and what I do)
  • Have a real profile pic (preferably not a graphic unless you are a huge brand)
  • Respond to direct messages
  • Visit / Reply to interesting tweets and if good, re-tweet.
  • Meet / interact with real people and build contacts
  • How this was different from my previous approach

With my old profile even though I had 8000+ followers on a retweet I used to get 120 -150 new hits on my blog posts. Then what are the 7850 followers for? Spamming you? I guess you have got the message I am trying to send across.Twitter website on desktop

Twitter is all about real people and real contacts – build them and you would be rewarded.

  • When to DM: Timing is everything. If you’re reaching out to someone you don’t know, consider their time zone and working hours. It’s respectful and increases the chances of a swift reply.
  • What to DM: Keep it professional and polite, especially in initial communications. Your first DM can set the tone for all future interactions, so make it count!
  • DM etiquette: Just like in any other form of communication, etiquette is important. Don’t spam, don’t harass, and always be respectful.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • DM not sending: Ensure you haven’t hit the character limit, the recipient allows DMs, and your internet connection is stable. If everything seems fine but the problem persists, contact Twitter support.
  • User not receiving DM: It’s possible that the recipient has chosen not to receive DMs from everyone. If this is the case, you’ll need to ask them to follow you first.

Mastering Twitter DMs can be a game-changer in your social media interactions. From networking to customer service, DMs provide a private, direct line of communication on one of the world’s largest social platforms. Keep our tips in mind, and you’ll be DMing like a pro in no time!

Before we start pinning, let’s get the basics right. If you’re serious about blogging, you need a Pinterest Business account. Why? Completing Your Profile

Now that you have a business account, it’s time to spruce up your profile. Think of your Pinterest profile as your business card. It’s the first thing people see, so you want to make a good impression.

Start by choosing a profile picture that represents you or your blog. It could be your logo, a professional headshot, or anything else that screams ‘you’. Next, write a compelling description. This is your chance to tell people what you and your blog are all about. Be authentic, be exciting, and most importantly, be you.

Don’t forget to verify your blog URL on your Pinterest profile. It adds credibility and allows people to click through to your blog. To do this, go to ‘Settings’, click on ‘Claim Website’, and follow the instructions.

Creating and Naming Your Pinterest Boards

Alright, now comes the fun part – creating Pinterest boards. Boards are where you save your pins. You can think of them as virtual bulletin boards where you pin your favorite ideas.

When it comes to naming your boards, consistency and SEO-friendliness are key. You want to choose names that reflect the content of your pins and include keywords that your audience might use to search for your content.

For example, if you have a food blog, you might create boards like “Healthy Dinner Recipes” or “Gluten-Free Baking”. These names are descriptive, keyword-rich, and give people a clear idea of what they’ll find on the board.

Organizing your boards is equally important. You can categorize your boards based on different themes, topics, or even seasons. The goal is to make it easy for people to navigate your profile and find what they’re looking for.

Lastly, don’t forget to write clear and engaging descriptions for your boards. Just like with your pins, you want to include relevant keywords in your board descriptions to make them more discoverable. But remember, while keywords are important, your descriptions should still be engaging and readable.

Pin Regularly

Consistency is key when it comes to Pinterest. Regular pinning not only keeps your profile active but also increases your chances of being seen by your audience. Aim to pin content from your blog to your Pinterest boards daily. This could be blog posts, infographics, or any other content that you think your audience would find valuable.

10+ Pro Strategies on How to Use Pinterest for Blogging Photo

Structuring a Winning Pin

Creating a high-engagement pin is an art. It’s not just about the image; it’s also about the description, the title, and the link. Start by choosing an eye-catching image. Vertical images tend to perform better on Pinterest. Next, write a compelling title and description. Make sure to include relevant keywords but keep it natural and engaging. Lastly, always include a call-to-action and a link back to your blog.

SEO for Pinterest

Just like Google, Pinterest is a search engine, and SEO plays a crucial role in making your Pinterest account more discoverable. Start by optimizing your profile, board names, and pin descriptions with relevant keywords. Also, don’t forget to use alt text for your pins. Alt text is a description of the image that helps Pinterest understand what the image is about. You can learn more about Pinterest SEO from this guide.

Creating Related and Staff Boards

Creating boards related to your audience’s interests can help you attract and engage more followers. For example, if you have a travel blog, you could create boards like “Travel Tips”, “Budget Travel”, or “Destination Guides”.

On the other hand, a staff board can help humanize your brand. You could create a board where your team members pin their favorite blog posts, behind-the-scenes photos, or anything else that gives a glimpse into your blog’s culture.

Making Your Blog Pinnable

Now, let’s bring the Pinterest magic to your blog. Making your blog posts easy to pin is crucial for driving Pinterest traffic to your blog. How do you do that? By adding a Pinterest button to your blog posts. This allows your readers to pin your content directly to their Pinterest boards.

  1. Choosing the Best Location for the Pinterest Button: The location of the Pinterest button on your blog post can significantly impact its visibility and usage. You can place the button at the top of the blog post, at the bottom, or both. Some bloggers also prefer to have a floating Pinterest button that moves as the reader scrolls down the page. Experiment with different placements and see what works best for your blog.
  2. Customizing the Appearance of the Pinterest Button: The Pinterest button should not only be functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Customize the button’s color, size, and design to match your blog’s aesthetic. This can make the button more appealing and increase the likelihood of readers using it.
  3. Ensuring Correct Image and Description Selection: When a reader clicks the Pinterest button, the correct image and accompanying description from the blog post should be automatically selected for pinning. This can be achieved by adding the appropriate meta tags to your blog posts. Make sure to test this functionality to ensure it works correctly.
  4. Adding a Pinterest Save Button: You can add a Pinterest button by using a social sharing plugin or by manually adding the Pinterest Save button code to your blog. If you’re not sure how to do this, Pinterest provides a helpful tutorial with step-by-step instructions.

Remember, the goal is to make it as easy as possible for your readers to pin your content to their Pinterest boards. The easier it is, the more likely they are to do it, which can lead to increased visibility and traffic for your blog.

Engaging with Your Pinterest Followers

Pinterest is a community, and like any community, interaction and engagement are key. Engaging with your Pinterest followers can help you build a loyal following and increase your pins’ visibility. Start by following back your followers, repinning their content, and leaving thoughtful comments on their pins. Also, don’t shy away from engaging with influencers in your niche. A simple comment or a repin can put you on their radar and expose your content to a larger audience.

Including Captivating Images in Your Pins

We all know that a picture is worth a thousand words, and on Pinterest, it might be worth a thousand pins. Images play a crucial role in Pinterest engagement. They’re the first thing people see, and they’re what makes people click on your pin.

When choosing images for your pins, go for high-quality, visually appealing images. Remember, vertical images perform better on Pinterest, so keep your images tall and narrow. Also, make sure your images are relevant to your pin’s content. Misleading images can lead to a poor user experience and hurt your Pinterest reputation.

Optimizing your images for Pinterest is equally important. This includes using the right image size, adding a text overlay to your images, and using consistent branding. You can learn more about optimizing your images for Pinterest from this guide.

Posting Schedule for Pinterest

Consistency is key on Pinterest. Regular posting keeps your profile active and increases your chances of being seen by your audience. But when is the best time to post on Pinterest? While it can vary depending on your audience, a good rule of thumb is to post during the evening and on weekends when Pinterest users are most active. You can use Pinterest Analytics to find out when your audience is most active and schedule your pins accordingly.

People are settling into the week and are more likely to browse Pinterest during their breaks.

Promoting Your Pinterest Account on Your Blog

Cross-promotion is a powerful strategy for growing your Pinterest presence. By promoting your Pinterest account on your blog, you can tap into your existing audience and drive them to your Pinterest profile. One way to do this is by adding a Pinterest share button to your blog posts. This allows your readers to easily pin your content to their Pinterest boards. You can also embed your Pinterest boards on your blog to showcase your Pinterest content and encourage your readers to follow you on Pinterest.

Analyzing Your Performance

Last but not least, let’s talk about Pinterest Analytics. Pinterest Analytics is like a compass that guides your Pinterest strategy. It tells you what’s working, what’s not, and what you can do to improve. You can see which of your pins are getting the most repins, comments, and clicks, and use this information to refine your Pinterest strategy. Remember, the goal is not just to get more followers, but to engage with your audience and drive traffic to your blog. So, keep an eye on your Pinterest Analytics, keep experimenting, and keep improving.

Some Extra Advanced Tips

Sure, here are some advanced Pinterest marketing strategies for bloggers:

  1. Leverage Rich Pins: Rich Pins provide more context about an idea because they show extra information directly on the Pin. There are four types of Rich Pins: app, product, recipe, and article. As a blogger, you should leverage Article Pins as they include the headline, author, and story description, helping Pinners understand what they’re about to read.
  2. Use Pinterest Analytics: Pinterest Analytics provides valuable insights about what Pins people like, what they save from your website, and how much traffic your site gets. You can use these insights to understand what content resonates with your audience and refine your Pinterest strategy.
  3. Promote Your Pins: If you want to reach a larger audience, consider promoting your Pins. Promoted Pins are regular Pins that you pay to appear where people are more likely to notice them. These ads can greatly increase your reach and visibility on Pinterest.
  4. Join Group Boards: Group boards are shared boards that multiple pinners can pin to. When you join a group board, your pins can be seen by all the members of that board, significantly increasing your reach.
  5. Optimize for SEO: Just like Google, Pinterest is a search engine. Make sure to optimize your profile, board names, and pin descriptions with relevant keywords. Also, use hashtags in your Pin descriptions to help users find your content.
  6. Create a Pinning Schedule: Consistency is key on Pinterest. Use scheduling tools like Tailwind to ensure your Pins are being posted at optimal times for engagement.
  7. Engage with Other Users: Pinterest is a community. Make sure to engage with other users by commenting on their pins, repinning their content, and responding to comments on your pins.
  8. Use High-Quality Images: Pinterest is a visual platform. Always use high-quality, visually appealing images for your pins. Vertical images tend to perform better on Pinterest.
  9. Test and Analyze: Always be testing. Try out different strategies, analyze the results, and refine your approach based on what works best.

Remember, Pinterest for Blogging is a journey, not a destination. It’s about trying new things, learning from your mistakes, and constantly improving. So, keep these tips in mind, start implementing them, and watch your Pinterest game level up! It takes time to build a following and see results, so be patient and consistent with your efforts.

3 Different Ways to Do Keyword Research

One of the most important, highly valued and high return activity in the SEO field, keyword research begins by just entering a word in the search query box. Essential to a website’s success, keyword research can prove to be a boon if implemented correctly and can lead your site to higher ranking success.

In this article, we will be quickly covering 3 different ways to go about doing keyword research. So, let’s get started:

1. The Usual Way of Keyword Research

It’s now extremely easy to find out the right targeted keywords for your website using ahref’s free keyword research tool . You can retrieve search volumes, suggestions, and generate combinations quickly.
3 Different Ways to Do Keyword Research Photo

You can narrow down based on the global results or on the basis of countries. In fact, you can even retrieve the search volume for every keyword in a particular city or country.

Once the results are generated, you will see the full list of keywords along with the related terms, Google & Amazon auto suggestions, Facebook, Quora and Twitter search for that particular keyword as well as the latest Google trends. You can even export these keywords in CSV or XLS format.

There’s also a difficulty checker in the tool which can help you gauge the approximate difficulty for a certain keyword. Apart from that, you can also view a breakdown of the strongest and weakest sites competing for that keyword.

And lastly, you can optimize your keywords better through smarter targeting. There are inbuilt user intent parameters – terms that are commercial, e-commerce related, questions, positive or negative in sentiment.

2. Keyword Research by Finding Out Competitor’s Keywords

Another smarter way to approach keyword research is by finding out the keywords your competitors’ are ranking for. This is made easy using Mondovo’s Competitor Keywords.

To get started, you only need to enter the website URL, select exact page or across the domain, select the country and click on Search.

3 Different Ways to Do Keyword Research Photo

Once the report is generated, you will see the number of organic keywords the site or a certain page is ranking for.

Using the filters available, you can then filter the keywords based on current position, previous position, search volume, CPC and traffic.

You can also see the AdWords keywords, if any, along with the ad copies.

Using all this data, you can then optimize your own website, your own content, blog articles etc. to rank for some of the most competitive terms and beat your competitors at their own game.

3. Keyword Research Through Search Volume

We all are familiar with Google Keyword Planner wherein we can get search volume data for a set of keywords. However, the problem lies with Keyword Planner showing the data in ranges wherein as a search marketer, the ideal solution would be to have the exact search volume data.

This problem is resolved by the Bulk Search Volume tool. You can now get to find the exact monthly search volume as well as the CPC cost.

3 Different Ways to Do Keyword Research Photo

Apart from that, you can also get the exact search volume for keywords for any language and in any country. There’s also the difficulty score that can tell you how easy/difficult it is to target a particular keyword. And lastly, you can also get to know the related keywords for a particular keyword entered by you.

So, if you’re running an advertising campaign or if you’re looking for the right set of terms for your website or for a blog article, using the bulk search volume tool is indeed the right choice for you.

Internet Marketing 101: How To Get Testimonials

background image

As I mentioned on this post, one element that virtually any sales page should have is a list of testimonials. That is, people who bought/used the product in the past and liked it.

Getting those testimonials is not always straight forward, so here are some strategies you can use for this purpose:

1. Don’t Use Fake Testimonials

I’ve seen people around the web encouraging you to create fake testimonials while you don’t have any. I don’t agree with this approach. First and foremost for the ethical aspect. Second because often it will be possible to identify your fake testimonials, and the result could backfire.

2. Ask Beta Testers

On the sub-title of your testimonial section you could say something like “Check what some people who already used our product had to say about it…”. Notice the “used” instead of “bought”. In other words, this means you could invite beta testers to try your product for free and ask them for a testimonial, and since you are not claiming the testimonials are only from people who actually bought your product it would be fine. If you want to be 100% transparent you could even mention that the testimonial is coming from a beta tester.

3. Explicitly Ask Users

Rarely customers will come to you with an spontaneous testimonial. In other words, you need to explicitly ask them if you want some. You could email them 30 days after the purchase, for instance, or include a paragraph on the page where they will be redirected after the purchase.

4. Give Them an Incentive

Writing a testimonial takes a bit of time, and most people are lazy. If you give them a small incentive, therefore, the number of testimonials you’ll get could skyrocket. The incentive could be an ebook or a mention on the blog of your company, for instance. Just make it clear that the incentive is a “thank you” gesture for the time the client will take to write and send the testimonial, and not a bribe to get him to write only positive things about your product.

How to Write an SEO-Friendly Blog Post

Google is perhaps the biggest source of traffic for most blogs and websites. If you don’t optimize your blog posts for search engines, then you’re missing out on high quality blog visitors. On the other hand, if you over optimize or wrongly optimize your blog posts, then your blog might get penalized and lose even its existing traffic. If you optimize your blog post the right way, then it will improve the search engine rankings as well as drive more blog traffic.

Here are 7 steps to write an seo-friendly blog post.

1. Pick a topic
The first step is to pick a topic that is relevant and useful to your readers. If people like your blog post they’ll share your content on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn and spend more time on your site, without bouncing off quickly. This will send social signals telling search engines that your content is valuable, and rank your blog posts higher.

2. Do keyword research
Once you’ve decided what you want to write about, it’s important to come up with a list of high-traffic keywords that you can target with your blog post. You’ll need to include these keywords at different points of your blog post (described below) when you optimize it.

You can use free tools like Google Keyword Planner to get keyword ideas for your topic. Simply type in your blog post topic in Keyword Planner and Google will provide a list of keyword ideas along with their monthly search volume and competition information (low, medium, high).

Pick one high traffic keyword relevant to your topic, as your main target keyword, and 4-5 related long-tail keywords that you’ll include in your post.

3. Write naturally
Before you optimize your blog post, you need to write a great article in the first place. If your content is not good, it won’t rank well, no matter how much you optimize it. So write a blog post naturally, keeping your readers in mind. Will they find it interesting? Will it help your readers? How will they use the information in your post?

This means structuring your content into paragraphs, and using complete sentences.

4. Use headings
Use headings (H1,H2,H3) to break your content into easy-to-understand sections. Headings make it easy for Google to understand the subtopics covered in your blog post and helps improve search engine rankings. Headings also enable readers to quickly scan your post, understand the main points and easily read it.

Generally, the title is displayed in H1 heading, and each subtopic in your post should have its on own sub heading H2. If you need to use H3 sub headings, ensure that they are used after H2.

Use your main target keyword once in your title. Typically, Google shows about 50-60 characters of your Title. So keep your post title within this limit. You can also use your long-tail keywords in some of the sub headings to rank your post for a wide range of keywords and search phrases. However, avoid overusing keywords in headings. Otherwise, you may get penalized for keyword stuffing.

5. Optimize Meta Description
Meta description is the 1-2 lines of text that appears below your blog post title, in search engine results. It helps search engines understand the topic of your blog post, so it’s one of the most factors that affects search rankings.

When you’re adding meta description, you need to provide 1-2 lines of complete and meaningful sentences describing the content of your blog post. Google displays only up to 150 characters of meta description, so ensure that your meta description is within this limit.

Meta description is a great place to include your main target keyword as well as a related long-tail keyword. However, if you try to stuff too many keywords, or use meaningless phrases in it, then Google will simply ignore your description.

Nevertheless, most users look at the title & meta description in search results to decide if they should click the link or not. So ensure that your post title & meta description are not only keyword-rich, but also click worthy.

6. Optimize Images
Images play an important role in SEO – they make your post visually appealing and more likely to be shared. They also make it easier for people to read and understand your post.

Most search engine (including Google) are text-based, and can’t understand images. So you need to add descriptive text, wherever possible, to help search engine understand what your images are about.

When you use an image for your post, ensure that you use descriptive file names. For example, “seo-friendly-blog.jpg” is better than “bsd213.jpg”. If you use multiple images, you can also use long-tail related keywords in their filenames. This will help search engines rank them better.

Similarly, you should also add a keyword-rich ALT tag to your images. ALT tag is basically used to describe your image, and helps search engines understand images better. When you upload your image to WordPress (or other platforms), you’ll see a form with a textbox to enter ALT text. In the above example, you can add something like “how to create seo-friendly blog post” for your image.

7. Add Internal Links
When you write a blog post, ensure that you’re linking to at least 2-3 other articles on your blog. This not only improves SEO score of your blog but boosts the crawlability of those articles.

However, ensure that you’re linking only to relevant articles from your blog. For example, if you’re writing about “how to do SEO” it makes sense to link to posts about “building links” and “doing keyword research”. However, linking to something like “how to install wordpress” is not relevant.

Conclusion
Hopefully, the above tips will help you optimize your blog post to rank better for more keywords and search terms. The trick is to target the right high-traffic keywords, write a super useful & interesting blog post around them, and include those keywords throughout your content. If your blog uses WordPress, then you can use the free Yoast SEO Plugin that allows you to easily optimize your blog post for search engines.

How to Increase The Chance your Content Will Rank Well in Google

As website owners, we all want to create quality content that not only is interesting and engaging to our audiences but often, also serves to promote and ideally sell our affiliates products. Your website can be big business and mean big bucks if you know how to use it.

Ok, so now you might be wondering, is there a way that it is possible to stack the odds in your favor when it comes to ranking on Google? Ranking on search engines is important; when was the last time you visited the second page of a search engine query?

Well, the folks over at Content Refined, a content marketing service seem to think so. Is creating content feeling like a shot in the dark? Are you frustrated with wasting time and money on having articles written that just don’t produce results in terms of ranking in search engines? Below, we share some of Content Refined’s tried and tested strategies on how to increase the chance your content will rank well in Google.

1. Targeted and Relevant Keyword Research, Which Creates Interesting and Engaging Article Titles

Content Refined is a start to finish content marketing service. This means that they will do your keyword research, create titles, write your articles and then edit and publish your articles to optimize them for your website.

Content Refined utilizes a keyword research tool call SECockpit to complete keyword research for their clients. The way Content Refined is different when selecting keywords for your article is that they filter keywords to fit specific sets of data. For Content Refined, that metric is a keyword that is searched at least 500 times per month but has less than a 30% competition score.

The fun doesn’t stop there however. Content Refined will also analyze what other sites are ranking for a given keyword. Even if a keyword is statistically right for use on your site, the team looks at what other sites are ranking for the keyword. This way, they ensure that they aren’t pitting their clients against massive, domain authority sites that they will realistically never be able to outrank.

2. Already Strong Writing Enriched Using MarketMuse To Ensure In-Depth Coverage of A Given Topic

Content Refined only uses native English speaking writers to create their articles. This is a good first step to ensure proper flow and grammar for an article. However, Content Refined goes the extra mile to ensure that not only are the articles interesting with good readability but also that they cover topics in depth. The best way to ensure in-depth coverage of a topic? There is a tool called MarketMuse that Content Refined uses. Users can plug an article title into the program and get back a variety of relevant information about the selected keyword. Not only will MarketMuse produce a list of relevant keywords that should be mentioned or touched upon in the article, but it will also yield the current content score of an article along with the average content scores of competing articles and the overall best content score for a selected keyword from the competition. In addition, MarketMuse will supply its customers with a list of competing articles, so that you can scope out the competition.

Data analysis has shown a moderate to strong correlation between a high MarketMuse score and a good ranking in search engine results.

3. A Statistically Driven Standard That All Articles Ideally Meet

Ideally, Content Refined articles meet a specific benchmark in terms of data and their team believes that articles that fit this criterion are likely to rank on search engines such as Google or Yahoo.

For Content Refined, that standard is a competition score under 30% and a MarketMuse score of over 40. In a real life scenario, this should result in a quality, well-rounded and in-depth article that features an interesting topic with a keyword that isn’t dominated by big, established domain authorities. Content Refined has uncovered that articles that meet this metric have between 80-90% chance of ranking on the first page of a search engine. Combine this with the fact that the service also only uses keywords that are searched at least 500 times a month and you have the opportunity to create some really fantastic, relevant and useful content.

The Content Refined process is based in finding out what people are looking for that isn’t necessarily being extensively or properly covered on the web. The method is to create useful content that is backed up by researched data, instead of using what we call the “spray-and-pray” method, which involves peppering your sites with heaps of articles, some of which may interest your audience and much that may not. The problem with the “spray-and-pray” is that you can end up losing readership if you post too much content that is useless or irrelevant to your audience and “spraying-and-praying” can also end up being very expensive.

To conclude, we all want to make money off our websites; that’s why we have them. However, it can be difficult, time consuming and costly to work out the exact metric for your site. If you are tired of creating content that doesn’t provide predictable results, the tips and tricks of the trade mentioned in this article may be able to help you rank on Google with a higher degree of certainty. Content Refined openly shares their process because they believe knowledge is power and that nobody should be deprived of the ability to create an awesome niche website.

If you don’t have the time to manage all these different tools on top of your singular or multiple websites, you can also take advantage of Content Refined’s start-to-finish content creation process by checking out one of the many available packages here:

Fresh Starts and Major Makeovers – The Keys to Content Marketing Success

Everyone knows content marketing is where it’s at. Sure it takes a LOT more time and effort than other forms of traditional digital advertising, but it works! Its no secret that people tend to tune out the old school forms of advertising. So what makes content marketing work so well, and what tools and tips are needed to make it even more effective?

Whether you’re creating new content or revamping old articles, there are triggers that are guaranteed to make your content perform well on the web. In the online world, there are several million pieces of content added each day to the already billion pages of content that already exists on the web. In order for your content to stand out, it needs to have compelling elements that will allow it to break through the noise. Most web marketers struggle to execute this with their campaign.

Here’s a few key tidbits we’ve picked up from mashing up several articles in our heads:

1. Document Your Strategy – Seems pretty basic, right? It’s hard to know what’s working well if you’re constantly shooting from the hip. Make sure your efforts support your business goals, which can vary based on your industry, otherwise it’s all just a waste of time.

2. Measure and Track ROI – Of course this is not always cut and dry. Content marketing is not meant to have an immediate impact on sales, it’s more about building trust with customers. Metrics such as web traffic, social interactions, and other metrics are common forms of measurement, but are they really impacting your business over time? Although content marketing is a long term strategy, over time you should be able to see an uptick in qualified leads and sales. Your tactics ultimately need to make an impact, or it’s time to tweak your strategy.

3. Use Infographics – This just makes sense. Humans tend to digest information better in graphical form, even information that seems kinda dry on the surface. Need some inspiration? Check out this collection of the best infographics from Hubspot.

4. Distribution of Your Content – it can take some trial and error to determine what works best for you. LinkedIn is typically the most popular (and successful) option for B2B, while Facebook or Pinterest are best for B2C. And many ad paid search and sponsored posts to the mix as well. More the likely its gonna take a mix of free and paid methods to get your message out there.

5. Produce Quality Content that Aligns with Your Goals – the popularity of content marketing breeds the mediocrity of content. Focus your efforts more on quality than sticking to a strict rule of “must create one piece of content per day” rule.

6. Get Contributors With Multiple Perspectives – ok, so I get it that you’re not comfortable with everyone writing your next rad article. But chances are they either have ideas on what would generate interest, or they can give you a good draft to work with. So talk to product development, the sales team, your IT department and so on. Even if you need to sit down and conduct an informal interview, a different perspective can be very refreshing.

7. Deliver Content for a Specific Audience

By addressing a core topic for a specific audience, your content will have a much better chance of gaining traction on the web. Don’t try to develop a content piece that appeals to everybody. Instead, find out the needs, wants, desires, problems, frustrations and fantasies of a specific audience group. For example, WordPress developers that want to use plugins that will improve their website’s performance. Or basketball players that want to know how they can improve their vertical leap ability.

8. Use Compelling Headlines

Powerful headlines should be used to sell your content to the audience. They need to sell the worthiness of the content to be clicked, liked and shared on the web. Epic content will fall short if the headline fails to convince a potential viewer to engage with it. Upworthy content writers are required to write 25 headlines before publishing their content. As a result, they create unique and compelling headlines that allows their content to perform well across the web.

9. Use Compelling Images

People love to engage with image content. The featured image that you use for your content can double the amount of traffic to your website. When the content is supported by more compelling images, it will create more opportunities for your content to get liked and shared across the web. Spend time creating good quality images that have a high-resolution and that tell a compelling story to your audience.

10. Make Sure Your Content Delivers Value

No matter what type of content you publish, it must deliver value for your target audience. Take the time to support your content with value by providing:

  • Quotes from credible sources.
  • Statistics from primary sources such as surveys.
  • Embedding valuable content such as infographics, videos or audio files.
  • Linking to other credible websites that support your content.

11. Keep Your Content Interesting by Telling a Story

People love stories. So it is important that you find an angle that will allow you to develop a compelling story for your content. Consider telling a story that:

  • Captures the human-interest angle.
  • Highlights major announcements.
  • Marks the passage of time (such as a 5, 10 or 25 year anniversary)
  • Reacts to a current story, event or trend.
  • Solves a problem.
  • Is honest.

12. Promote Your Content on Platforms Where Your Target Audience Hangs Out

Implementing the right promotional strategy will allow your content to gain exposure, traffic and shares from your target audience. It is important that you identify where your audience hangs out online. Some methods for finding your audience online include:

  • Searching for discussion threads on forums.
  • Searching for question and answer websites like Quora for relevant discussion -topics.
  • Searching for blog posts and adding to the commentary.
  • Searching for topic groups on social media platforms.
  • Searching for influencers on blogs, media or social media platforms and sharing -the content with them.

You can even use tools like BuzzSumo or Buzzstream to find people that have engaged with similar content and promote your content directly to them.

These are proven methods that will get your content likes and shares across the web. Amplify your website’s content by implementing these tactics today!

Nobody ever said content marketing is easy…but your customers like reading stories, or learning more about topics that help them become more educated on an important subject. It’s well worth the time and extra effort in the long run.

With all that in mind, we came up with a brilliant idea for blog promotion (coming soon on that, just be patient)! Internet Marketing 101: Sell Benefits, Not Features

background image

Whenever you need to sell something, how do you introduce it to potential buyers? The most natural thing for us to do is to start describing the product itself. In other words, to start describing its features. The problem with this approach? It doesn’t sell! It will simply bore the customer and make you lose his attention.

If you want to sell, you need to start with the benefits and value that your product will bring to the life of your customers. Sure, down the road you’ll need to actually describe the product features (cause people want to know what they are actually buying), but you only do that once the customer is already convinced to buy your product.

I’ll give you an example to illustrate my point. Suppose that you are a bit over weight, and you are looking for an ebook to guide you through the process of losing that extra weight. You visit the sales page of two weight-loss ebooks. Ebook A has the following bullet points right on top of the page:

  • 176 pages full of content!
  • Illustrations about exercises.
  • A complete list of food you are not supposed to eat.
  • Immediate download after you buy.

Ebook B, on the other hand, starts with the following bullet points:

  • Techniques to start burning fat today!
  • Lose up to 10 pounds in the first 2 weeks!
  • Discover the 5 best exercises to slim down.
  • Become healthier and more attractive at the same time!

If you could keep reading only one of the sales page, which one would it be? Probably the second one, cause it’s describes exactly what you are looking for, right?

In fact that’s the logic behind the theory: customers don’t want your product, they want the benefit that your product will bring to them. In the example above you can clearly see that. Over weight customers don’t care if an ebook is red, yellow, with or without illustrations, with 10 or 200 pages. All they care is whether or not they will lose weight using it. That’s what they are willing to pay for.

Bottom line: whenever you need to sell something, always start with the benefits. After all that’s what the customer is looking for.

5 Steps to Remove a Google Manual Penalty

background image

When digital marketing was in its infancy, there was no such thing as a bad link. But in recent years, Google’s focus on relevancy and user experience has caused SEO specialists to reconsider their approach. Webmasters who receive “questionable” links to their site are commonly finding themselves penalized by the very search engine that they’re trying to impress. Receiving a manual penalty can be a time-consuming, difficult process at times, so you may want to hire a reputable firm like Coalition Technologies, a leading Los Angeles SEO company.

1. Site Assessment

The first step is going to be to gather a list of all of the websites that link to you. There are many different tools to accomplish this, including Google’s Webmaster Tools. Once you can clearly view exactly where your backlinks are coming from, you should be able to accurately determine which are toxic and which are legitimate. Depending on how many backlinks you have, you may want to organize the list on a clearly labelled spreadsheet. Organization is critical during this step.

2. Link Determination

The next step is to manually classify each link as natural, unnatural, or suspicious. While there are link classification tools that can grade your links, you are better off going through each link manually so you can ensure a thorough job. Some common unnatural links include those that come from spammy directories and from content farms. Suspicious links often stem from blog rolls, footers, or seemingly useless link archive pages. You may want to also consider flagging links from sites that are irrelevant to your niche.

3. Contact Webmasters

Once you have decided which links are natural, unnatural, or suspicious, it is time to take action. You will need to contact the webmasters of any unnatural or suspicious links. You will need to request that all unnatural links are removed, and suspicious links should be — at the very least — tagged as “no follow.” Some website that are loaded with spam may require several contact attempts, so make sure you keep diligent track of who you have contacted and when, as you may need to follow up regularly. Once a webmaster tells you that the link has been removed or changed, make sure to manually verify the removal before you cross them off of the list.

4. Submit Disavow Requests

It is highly likely that you will not hear back from some webmasters, or you may have backlinks appearing on sites that are no longer active. When this occurs, you will need to use Google’s disavow tool to mark links that should be ignored during Google’s assessment. Create a .txt file that contains all of the links in question, and then simply upload it to your Webmaster Tools. If a website is known for using black-hat SEO techniques, or if it is suspicious for any reason, you may want to request that the entire domain is disavowed, instead of just the one page linking to your website.

5. Ask for Reconsideration

Finally, you should send a message to Google via your Webmaster Tools, outlining what actions you have taken to rectify the problem, as well as changes that you have made to your SEO strategies. It may take a month or longer before you hear back, and you may need to submit more than one reconsideration request. The webspam team may need to manually review your website, which may take some time, but don’t give up. Persistence is the key to getting manual penalties removed.

10 Tips About Local SEO

background image

Local SEO can be very profitable, yet most bloggers and webmasters ignore it. If you are not familiar with the term, it refers to optimizing your website or application to search queries that have a strong local component. For instance, if someone searches for “good dentist”, Google will assume that the person is looking for a good dentist close to his or her location, and will therefore adapt the search results to that constraint.

With the explosion of mobile phones, more and more search queries are getting influenced by local SEO, and that is why you should learn about it. A couple of weeks ago I came across an interesting article on Search Engine Land titled 10 Things I Learned About Local SEO In 2014. Here’s a quotation:

The World Really Is Going Mobile
We all talk about it, but this past Black Friday/Cyber Monday, we saw a 100+% increase in mobile traffic to our local retailer clients. According to one national/local client that has a partnership with Google, Google has told them to expect that 80% of their organic traffic in 2015 will come from mobile search.

The challenge is that, as more searches go mobile, conversion can decline. This is particularly true if your site is not mobile optimized and definitely true if you are selling stuff versus just trying to generate phone calls.

If you have not started your mobile-friendly strategy yet, what are you waiting for?

I liked the article because the tips mentioned are not the usual stuff you’ll find on other guides. Check it out if you have some time, and to explore more the local SEO concept if your online business is affected by it.

If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It, Especially In SEO!

background image

Ever heard the saying “never change a winning team”? What about “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? The concept is pretty much the same, and it applies to many fields and endeavors. A couple of months ago I found it also applies to SEO….

I had a mini website that was receiving a lot of traffic from search engines. When I dug into analytics to analyze the numbers I found that one single page was attracting the bulk of the traffic, as it was ranking in the third position of Google for a popular search term.

I figured that people visiting other pages of that site would be interested in that page too, so I created a section below each page with related links. The goal was to improve the navigation and increase the page views per visitor ratio within the site, and not to increase my search rankings. In fact I didn’t use optimized anchor texts or anything to artificially inflate my rankings.

Yet a couple of weeks later that page moved from the third position to the third page in the search results for the same search term…. and it stayed there ever since.

Could it have been a coincidence? Sure. But there is a chance that the changes I applied to the internal linking structure of the site triggered some red flag with Google, despite being legitimate changes.

I also heard many stories from website owners who re-designed their websites, moving links and sections around, and then found that their rankings had vanished overnight.

Obviously this is not a rule carved in stone. Many times similar tweaks could have a positive effect on search rankings and traffic. The point I wanted to make is that you should perform structural changes on your websites with care, especially if there is a big risk involved (e.g., if you already get a lot of organic traffic).

Twitter Followers vs. RSS Subscribers

Daniel’s note: This is a guest post by Nathan Rice. My personal opinions are slightly different from his when it comes to Twitter followers vs. RSS subscribers (because I think the latter are more important for a blogger or web publisher), but I am always open to different perspectives and points of view. I am also curious to know which one you guys value more, so make sure to drop a comment after you read the article.

You may be aware that Twitter is the newest phenomenon in the blogoshpere. Big name bloggers have been jumping on the Twitter bandwagon for months, and many have effectively leveraged the micro-blogging service to increase readership, while at the same time using it to develop new relationships. The great thing about Twitter is that is helps you develop that two-way relationship that RSS lacks.

Having that Feedburner chicklet increase by a few hundred readers definitely feels good. The more subscribers you have, the more influence you have as a blogger. But I would assert that a new Twitter follower is far more valuable than a new RSS subscriber. Here’s why:

1. Twitter followers see your broadcasts

Although some people will tell you that using Twitter as a broadcasting service is wrong, but I disagree. Many people PREFER their friends let them know of a new blog post via Twitter. I may not always have my feed reader open, but I keep Twitterific in the corner of my monitor all day. When someone announces a new blog post on Twitter, I will very often click and read it.

2. Twitter followers can become your friends

The thing that Twitter offers that an RSS reader can’t is the ability to respond. Sure, there is always the comment section, but you’re far more likely to get a response from a blog author on Twitter than in their comments. Twitter is conversational, and thus Twitter users like to use the tool to converse.

3. Twitter friends can become your fans

Friendship means trust, and people who trust you are far more likely to become fans. Ultimately, fans are what you want.

The way a blogger gets to be influential, and thus make money, is by figuring out a way to get people to use their influence (no matter how small) to promote you. People who like you enough to do this are valuable, and Twitter is the perfect tool to cultivate these fans.

4. Twitter followers are usually testing you

I give my blog readers three options when they visit my blog.

  1. Subscribe to my RSS feed
  2. Subscribe via Email
  3. Follow me on Twitter

The reason I added that third option is because I suspected many people were coming to my blog, enjoying my content, but couldn’t justify adding another blog to their list of daily reads. For these people, I needed to give them an option that let them gradually get to know me. If they enjoyed conversing with me, or reading my tweets, then they are likely to click a “New Blog Post” broadcast when I tweet them, as well.

And since I use Woopra Analytics, I am able to watch the instant results of tweeting a new blog post to these followers. It’s amazing to see the “Live” number shoot up instantaneously.

5. Twitter followers can become RSS subscribers too

During the time since I added the third “Follow me on Twitter” option, I’ve seen my RSS subscriber numbers almost double. I certainly can’t give credit to Twitter for all of them (I worked my tail off in October to increase subscribers), I can say that I do believe Twitter helped tremendously as a part of my overall subscription and traffic increase strategy.

In the cases where Twitter followers and RSS subscribers overlap, consider yourself lucky. You’ve just made a new friend, and a new subscriber.

5 Reasons Online Collaborations Can Help You Beat Out The Competition

background image

The dictum that two heads are better than one can apply to many things, including blogging.

I collaborate with my brother on five websites, which makes me uniquely qualified to explain the benefits of online collaboration.

Here are 5 reasons collaborating with a partner can help you beat out the competition.

1. More variety in your writing. Single-authored blogs with the exception of guest posts will always be based on the standpoint of one author. Having a partner that writes posts with you ensures that your blog will always be filled with variety and fresh ideas.

2. Proof each other’s posts. Spelling and grammar mistakes occur in even the most popular blogs. Having a partner ensures you always have someone to proof your writing. Your partner can also let you know when your writing isn’t clear and flowing as well as it should be.

3. Make a good product amazing. If I show my partner a “final product”, he can take a look and give me a few additional ideas and tweaks that can make what I’ve written even more powerful. This process has helped my brother and I make humor pieces go from funny to downright hilarious (at least to us).

4. Combine your skill set to create new websites that kick-ass. The most recent site I’ve launched with my brother is a funny online comic called the Spicy Tornado. I draw the comics and my brother colors them in. By sharing the duty of creating each comic neither of us becomes overwhelmed by it. Combining our unique skill set in the creation of each comic makes for a finished product of the highest quality.

5. Significantly increase your capacity to promote. Without promotion your site won’t go anywhere no matter how quality it is. By doubling your capacity to promote your chances of gaining momentum multiply. For example, your partner can maintain your site while you do a guest post campaign. Also, you now have two twitter accounts instead of just one and double the connections with people who can link to you and promote you.

The down side of collaborating with online ventures

The two greatest downsides are that you must split profits and find someone you can trust completely.

It goes without question that collaborating is not for everyone and involves risks.

I’d argue, however, that considering the sheer competition out there, the upside of collaborating with a partner with online ventures overwhelms the downside.

What’s your take on collaborating with online ventures?

Ranking on Google: A Comprehensive Guide For 2024 Photo

Ranking on Google is like finding the perfect pair of jeans – it’s a quest, it’s an art, and when you get it right, it feels fantastic. But how do you shimmy your way up to that coveted top spot? It’s a blend of creativity, strategy, and a deep understanding of the digital landscape. It’s challenging, exciting, and filled with opportunities. SEO is a bit like a game of chess with Google. It’s all about strategy, finesse, and staying one step ahead

I’ll dive into the thrilling world of SEO and how it can catapult your website to the top of Google’s rankings. I’ll uncover the secrets of keywords, backlinks, and all the behind-the-scenes magic that can turn your website from a ghost town into a bustling metropolis. Here are the main factors about your website that search engines like Google consider when they’re ranking your website.

Understanding Webpages and Websites

Imagine you’re a detective. Your mission? To understand the purpose of a webpage and the website it belongs to. It’s like piecing together a puzzle. Every page on the internet is created for a purpose, and understanding this purpose is crucial for evaluating its quality.

For instance, a blog post might be designed to inform, an e-commerce page to sell, or a forum to facilitate discussion. Understanding this purpose is like finding the key to a lock. It helps you tailor your content and SEO strategies to align with this purpose, increasing your chances of ranking on Google.

Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) Topics

Now, let’s talk about YMYL topics. These are pages that could potentially impact a user’s health, financial stability, or safety. Think of them as the high stakes poker of the internet. They’re held to very high standards because inaccurate or misleading information could harm users.

For example, a webpage giving financial advice or health tips falls under YMYL. If you’re dealing with such topics, you need to ensure your content is accurate, reliable, and trustworthy. This not only protects your users but also enhances your reputation, which can boost your Google ranking.

Page Quality Rating

Page Quality (PQ) rating is like the report card of your webpage. It evaluates how well a page achieves its purpose. This involves understanding the content of the page, the reputation of the website and content creators, and the level of expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-A-T) demonstrated on the page.

Think of it as a three-legged stool. Each leg – content, reputation, and E-A-T – is crucial for stability. If one leg is weak, the stool wobbles. Similarly, to rank high on Google, you need to ensure all three aspects are strong.

The Dark Side: Lowest Quality Pages

Picture this. You’re browsing the internet, and you stumble upon a page. It’s cluttered with ads, the content is barely readable, and something about it just feels… off. These are what we call the lowest quality pages.

These pages are harmful, misleading, untrustworthy, or offer no value to users. They’re like the villains of the internet. They include pages with deceptive design, obstructed content, or suspected malicious behavior.

If you want to rank on Google, you need to steer clear of these practices. Google’s algorithms are smarter than ever, and they can easily spot such pages and push them down the rankings.

The Heroes: High Quality Pages

On the other side of the spectrum, we have high-quality pages. These are the heroes of the internet. They have high-quality main content, a positive reputation, and a high level of E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness).

These pages serve their purpose well and provide value to users. They’re like a well-stocked library or a trusted advisor. They offer useful, reliable information and a great user experience.

If you want to rank on Google, strive to create high-quality pages. Focus on creating valuable content, building a positive reputation, and demonstrating your expertise and trustworthiness.

Understanding Search User Needs

Now, let’s talk about the audience – the search users. Understanding their needs is like having a compass in the vast ocean of the internet. It guides your content creation and SEO strategies.

The guidelines discuss the importance of understanding the needs of search users, including their queries and the context of their searches. For instance, a user searching for “best pizza near me” is likely looking for a local pizza place, while a user searching for “how to make pizza” is probably looking for a recipe.

By understanding these needs, you can tailor your content to meet them. This not only enhances user satisfaction but also increases your chances of ranking on Google.

Needs Met Rating Guideline

Imagine you’re a teacher grading a student’s assignment. You’re assessing how well the assignment meets the given criteria. This is similar to the “Needs Met” rating guideline.

This section discusses how to rate the extent to which a page meets a user’s needs. The rating scale ranges from “Fully Meets” to “Fails to Meet”. It’s like a report card for your webpage.

For instance, a page about “how to bake a cake” fully meets a user’s needs if it provides a clear, easy-to-follow recipe. On the other hand, if the page is filled with irrelevant information or lacks clear instructions, it fails to meet the user’s needs.

Understanding this guideline can help you create content that meets your users’ needs, increasing your chances of ranking on Google.

The Magic of Technical and On-Page SEO

Now, let’s talk about the magic behind the scenes – technical and on-page SEO. While the document doesn’t explicitly discuss these areas, the principles it outlines indirectly touch on them.

Creating high-quality, purposeful content is like preparing a delicious meal. It’s the main course that satisfies your users. Ensuring a positive user experience, on the other hand, is like providing excellent service. It makes your users feel valued and comfortable.

These are crucial aspects of on-page SEO. They’re like the secret ingredients that make your webpage stand out in the crowded internet landscape.

For instance, using relevant keywords in your content and headers, optimizing your meta tags, and ensuring your website is mobile-friendly are all part of on-page SEO. They’re like the signposts that guide Google’s algorithms to your webpage.

Similarly, technical SEO involves aspects like website speed, security, and crawlability. It’s like the foundation of your house. It supports all your other SEO efforts.

So, there you have it. The journey to ranking on Google involves understanding user needs, creating high-quality content, and mastering the art of SEO. It’s a journey of continuous learning and adaptation. But with these insights, you’re well-equipped to navigate this journey. Happy ranking!

How Branding Can Make or Break Your New Online Business Photo

Branding is one of the most important aspects of building a successful business. It is a critical component that helps to differentiate your business from your competitors and creates a lasting impression on your target audience. Effective branding can help establish trust and credibility with potential customers, increase brand recognition and customer loyalty, and ultimately drive business growth.

How Branding Can Make or Break Your New Online Business Photo

For a new business, branding is especially important. Without an established reputation or track record, your branding efforts can help to set the tone for your business and create a positive first impression. Your brand identity, which includes your virtual business card and logo, plays a key role in establishing your business’s image and reputation.

A well-designed logo can be a powerful tool in creating a strong brand identity. It should be simple, memorable, and unique. Create a logo that reflects your business’ values, mission, and personality. Your logo is often the first thing people see when they encounter your business, and it can have a significant impact on their perception of your business. A poorly designed logo can make your business appear unprofessional or untrustworthy, while a well-designed logo can inspire confidence and trust.

Similarly, your business card is an extension of your brand identity. It is often the first tangible item that potential customers will receive from you, and it should reflect the same values and personality as your logo. Your business card should include all necessary information, such as your name, title, and contact information, but it should also be visually appealing and memorable.

How Branding Can Make or Break Your New Online Business Photo

Your business card and logo are both essential components of your branding strategy. They work together to create a cohesive and recognizable brand identity that can help set your business apart from your competitors. Here are a few ways in which branding can affect your business card and logo design:

1. Consistency is key when it comes to branding. Your logo and business card should be consistent in design, color scheme, and messaging. This consistency helps to reinforce your brand identity and creates a sense of familiarity with your target audience.

2. Your branding efforts should help to differentiate your business from your competitors. Your logo and business card should be unique and stand out from others in your industry. This can help to create a strong first impression and make your business more memorable.

3. A well-designed logo and business card can help to establish trust and credibility with potential customers. It shows that you take your business seriously and are invested in creating a positive image for your brand.

4. Brand recognition is essential for building a successful business. A recognizable l and business card can help to increase brand awareness and make your business more memorable. How Branding Can Make or Break Your New Online Business Photo

In summary, branding is a critical component of building a successful business. Your branding efforts, including your business card and logo, should reflect your business’s values, mission, and personality. They should be designed with consistency, differentiation, trust, and credibility in mind, and they should help to increase brand recognition and customer loyalty. By investing in your brand identity, you can create a lasting impression on your target audience and drive business growth.

When it comes to designing your brand identity here are some tips:

  1. Define your brand: Before you start designing your business cards and logo, it’s important to define your brand. What do you want your brand to communicate to customers? What are your brand values and mission? This will help you create a design that is consistent with your brand.
  2. Choose a color scheme: Colors play an important role in brand recognition. Choose a color scheme that reflects your brand and is consistent with your industry.
  3. Keep it simple: A cluttered design can be overwhelming and distracting. Keep your business cards and logo simple and easy to understand.
  4. Use high-quality images: If you’re using images in your logo or on your business cards, make sure they are high-quality and not pixelated.
  5. Make it memorable: A memorable logo and business card can help customers remember your brand. Use unique and creative designs to make your brand stand out.
  6. Use legible fonts: Choose fonts that are easy to read and legible. Avoid using too many different fonts as this can make your design look cluttered.
  7. Include all necessary information: Make sure your business cards include all necessary information such as your name, title, company name, phone number, email address, and website.
  8. Get feedback: Get feedback from others on your logo and business card designs. This can help you identify any areas for improvement and ensure your design is effective.
  9. Choose the right printing service: Choose a reputable printing service that can produce high-quality business cards. Make sure to review their samples and pricing before making a decision.
  10. Be consistent: Once you’ve chosen a logo and business card design, be consistent in using them across all your marketing materials. This will help build brand recognition and make your brand more memorable.

In conclusion, branding is essential for a new online business to establish a unique identity, build trust and credibility with customers, and increase brand recognition for long-term growth and success.

Pop-up Mania! Will They Come Back To Vogue?

background image

A couple of weeks ago Darren Rowse posted an article where he shared a technique that increased his newsletter subscription rate by over 700%, from an average of 40 news subscribers per day to 350!

He probably could not have foreseen the mass effect that the post would trigger!

After that post, in fact, dozens of bloggers started using pop-ups to promote their newsletters, from John Chow to Shoemoney and many smaller bloggers, too.

The trend is so noticeable that I often find those pop-ups coming up on random sites that I am visiting over the day.

So what happened to the “pop-ups are the ultimate evil” motto that we had going on around the Internet?

I think it is starting to get questioned (which is not necessarily a bad thing, mind you).

Basically Darren found out by testing that the increase in the conversion rate of his newsletter was huge, while the drawbacks of adding the pop-ups were not so big. A couple of people emailed him complaining about the intrusiveness, but that was pretty much it.

Of course we need to take into consideration the people that got annoyed with the pop-ups and quit the site to never come back again, without letting Darren know about it. But will this effect be eve noticeable on his traffic trends?

Pop-ups remain one of the most intrusive and annoying promotion forms, but are they capable of hurting your traffic tangibly if you provide quality content?

Here is a question for our poll: would one pop-up offering you a newsletter subscription be enough to make you stop visiting a website? Assume you would see the pop-up only once, and not on every visit at that site. (RSS and email subscribers might need to visit the site to see the poll)
